Policies

The policies described herein constitute the entire and mutual agreement and govern the relationship between Ecuador Verde Pais Cia. Ltda, an Ecuador based company, and its affiliate companies, hereinafter referred to as the “Tour Company” and the person or persons who will be participating and/or using the Tour Company’s products and services and who has/have booked and paid the reservation, hereinafter will be referred to as “The Passenger”. The Tour Company urges the Passenger to provide the information required bellow in every heading in his/her particular case.

  1. GENERAL POLICIES:
  2. Medical & Health

The Passenger ensures the Tour Company that he/she is in good health and good physical condition to fully enjoy an expedition to the mainland Ecuador with all its related activities including: Frequent boarding the boat/canoe which requires some physical effort and balance. Passengers know that arrival on the jetty or other platforms are generally wet and could be slippery as well as to participate in daily walks through the jungle which may include walking on uneven terrain.

The Passenger is aware that he/she will be traveling through the highlands and that it may involve experiencing altitudes between 2,500 meters above sea level and be exposed to high levels of humidity. So, the Passenger who suffers from any medical condition (including allergies) that might impact their travel experience has consulted a physician before participating in any expedition in mainland Ecuador has so advised the Tour Company of his/her condition and associated medical needs and recognizes the Tour Company reserves the right not to accept passengers based on medical and health issues.

  • Insurance

The Passenger claims to have purchased a good travel insurance policy with the Insurance Agency **** having been given the following Insurance Number ### which includes: trip cancelation, interruption coverage and baggage loss protection AS WELL AS medical coverage, including coverage for emergency medical evacuation.

The Passenger´s failure to purchase a good Insurance Policy means that he/she will cover his/her own medical evacuation costs and that Ecuador Verde Pais Cia. Ltda. does not take any responsibility over those costs.

  • Inability to Perform

The Passenger is aware that the Tour Company shall not be liable for debacle or inability to perform the mainland Ecuador´s trips by reasons of strikes or industrial action, war, riot, acts of terrorism, civil commission, inability to obtain supplies and other circumstances beyond its control like natural disasters, unfavorable climatic conditions (sudden floods or droughts) and delays in flights.                                                                                                                                                               

The Tour Company may, due to circumstances of force majeure, or unexpected events, vary the time of day of departures of trips, or alter its tour programs and itineraries without advanced notice for the above mentioned reasons. Under the aforementioned conditions the Tour Company is under no obligation whatsoever to provide substitutes, replacement of service or refunds to the Passenger so affected.

  • Illegal Substances

The Passenger recognizes that transporting or usage of any illegal substances during his/her tour with the Operator Company is forbidden according to the national and/or local laws like.                                                                                                                                  

  • BOOKINGS & PAYMENTS

                  a. -   The following payment schedule and amounts apply for respective land-based tours:

         Bookings Made:  31 days or more prior to departure date:

          Important Notes:

The price of land based tours is based on single, double or triple occupancy, as requested by client. Single supplements will be applied      according to the policies of the hotels and providers of the services used.

                b.   CANCELATION OF LAND-BASED TOURS

          Within 30 days or more prior to departure: A full 100% refund applies  

          From 16 to 30 days prior to departure: A 50% refund applies

          From 15 daysor less prior to departure:NO REFUND WILL APPLY

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Payments made with Credit Cards by the Passenger who cancelled his/her booking the bank commissions will be discounted from the refund amount.

** The passenger is aware that once inside the lodge, if he/she decides to leave Jamu Lodge before the date estimated as the last day of his/her tour, no refund will be applied.

c.   SPECIAL CANCELLATION POLICY:

i.    Cancellation Due to Illness or Injury

The Tour Company will keep all payments received as penalty, reason for which we strongly urge the Passenger to obtain trip cancellation/interruption insurance to cover such unforeseen or force majeure incidents.

ii.    Cancellation Due to Death of an Immediate Family Member

For immediate family members (husband, wife, daughter, son, mother, father, brother, sister) 50% of monies received will be refunded in case of termination of the booking. Legal death certificate is required.

If the Passenger agrees to postpone his/her booking for a future date according to the Lodge availabilities the 100% of the value will be credited.

iii.   Delay, Missed Flight or Bus and Out-of-time presentation

                          No refund or credits.

  • BELONGINGS & RESPONSIBILITY
  • The nature of certain activities at JAMU LODGE such as hiking, boating, motorized canoe, swimming, wood rafting, use of inner tubes, use of vines, fishing and climbing, is such that injuries may be suffered without any negligence on the part of the company, its servants or agents. Guest who is sign below hereby acknowledge this statement and release the company, its employees, servants and agents from all the claims, demands or actions of liability for any injury or death sustained while participating in these or similar activities.
  • The passenger acknowledges that taking cellphones, computers, photography equipment, electronic equipment and/or delicate clothing it is his/her full responsibility, and that those objects need to be protected the best way possible or pack in that you can avoid any problem or damage.
  • If humidity, drop in, or bad weather causes any damage to their equipment or belongings its only passenger responsibility and not the Lodge or its personnel, since it’s impossible to control bad weather or humidity. 
  • Passenger must notify to the Hotel personnel of any economic or sentimental belongings that want to be store on a safe box at the moment they get in the Hotel.

NOTE: We are not responsible for any objects that haven’t been declared at the moment of the check in.
